| I
hear in my studio whispers people make to each other,
"I love the energy he produces in his work, such fresh
color...the expression he captured in that face."
This
is what drives you each day to come back to the
easel...knowing someone likes your work and will
be looking at this for decades to come.
I
have a strong passion to draw or paint each day,
knowing the learning process will continue with
all the skills I've acquired. This didn't come easily.
It's a commitment you make when you become an artist.
How
great it is to take a blank piece of paper or a
stretched canvas and know that you are challenged
to put something on these various surfaces that
not only will please yourself, but will allow the
viewer to react as well.
I owe a lot to my teacher, Bill Mosby, at the American
Academy of Art. Such a Master.
As a representational artist, my biggest decision
to make when starting a project is, "Will it look
better in charcoal, pencil, pastel, or would oil
be the best solution?" I favor oil, but I love to
draw, too!
